| "From the
Producers of Armitage III and Tenchi the Movie, Comes
Green Legend Ran!" "A Story of Warning That
Hits The Heart Of Today's Generation!" In the future, our planet will be
transformed into a strange new world where human life
struggles on an Earth without rain or oceans - only vast,
partched deserts. Mysterious objects from space known as
the Rodo have gathered a cult following who now rule over
the survivors of Earth. Ran, a young, hot-blooded boy,
has sworn revenge against the Anit-Rodoist group, known
as the Hazzard, for the death of his mother. In his
quest, he meets and falls in love with Aira, a pretty
silver haired girl, who everyone wants to possess. Caught
between the overbearing Rodoists and the terroristic
Hazzard, Ran pursues the one thing that is clear to him,
his love for Aira! What is her connection to the Rodo?
find out as our heroes travel to the Holy Green!

Director Satoshi Saga
- Original Japanese
Ending
|
| Well so much for Pioneer's standard
of excelence. This DVD was pretty laid back compaired to
their other triumphant efforts (Tenchi The Movie, Tenchi The Movie 2, Dragon Ball Z). Although there is a quick two
minute interview with the director, Satoshi Saga, the
original Japanese Ending, I think they could have at
least thrown in a trailer or two. It was a movie after
all, and I'm sure there had to be a few commercials for
it in Japan. Oh well. Another thing that I would have
liked would be a Cast listing of the original Seiyuu.
They listed the American voices, but not the Japanese.
I'm pretty sure of a couple of the actors, but I'd really
like to know the others as well. On the plus side, this was released
in both English, and Japanese. The transfer quality was
well done, and there didn't seem to be any MPEG
aftifacts. And it is the Uncut version. There were about
20 minutes cut from the movie to play on the Sci-Fi
channel. I hadn't seen that version of it, but I'm pretty
sure they just trimmed up a few scenes to get it to fit
into the scheduling blocks. All in all, a decent DVD
although definately brought out for the general public,
and not Anime fans. If possible rent it first, then
decide from there.
