 Matt's Bit

This is an extremely well developed DVD.  There are a lot of great extras included on this disc.  I love background information, and ADV poured on tons.  Translator notes are excellent for catching things you may have missed while watching it.  Like how Kurumi ends every sentence with "desu" (it is).  The extended previews are also great to watch.  Heck, even the behind the scenes (for the American crew) was informational, and it really pushed that everyone on the project really cared about the series, and what they were trying to do.  Go ADV!

The Japanese track was ridiculously cute, and as an added bonus, I really liked this dub.  It's hilarious.  Not translated exactly from the Japanese, but it keeps the gist.  For being a series taking place supposedly in the 50's, the dialogue is very... modern.  I mean, when was the last time you heard the main character of a series chastised by his friends who call him a "pussy"?  I guess ADV knows how to treat it's core audience (male 15-25 I would guess).  Not to say the ladies wouldn't enjoy the show, it's just geared towards the guys.  I'll have to get Erin's review of this some time this summer.

As for the trailers... I can't wait to watch Excel Saga!
